Tired of hotels and formal accommodation provided by every other tour operator? Are you exited by the experience of waking up in the village, helping with milking the cows, tilling the land and preparing meals the African way? Are you looking forward to the experience of teaching a local school and spending your Sunday with the church patrons in the nearby village? Do you want to go pick the tea/coffee berries in the farm in central province or heard cows in the middle of Laikipia or Masai Mara?
Trails of Africa Tours and Safaris’ homestay packages offers you this and many more opportunities to interact with and learn Africa’s village life, its challenges and excitements.
This is just but a sneak preview of what our homestay packages offer you. We go through a thorough analysis of which area/village to offer in our homestay programs to ensure not only a maximum exposure but also your safety while enjoying your stay. In one holiday, we can offer you a homestay program of more than one region depending on your number of days available at your disposal.
As a tour company, Trails of Africa.co.ke takes it’s clients to various homes in urban areas, ranches and rural villages in East Africa where we have developed close working relationship with the owners of most homes offering homestays. We are based in Nairobi, Kenya where we have started this new concept and already we are receiving visitors from all over the world, who are not interested in staying in various luxurious hotels and lodges but prefers staying with families and sharing their daily chores altogether.
While your experience is what matters at the end of your stay, homestay entails an inter-cultural experience where you and your host learn from each other and eventually provide a lasting relationship beyond your short stay.
Our homestay programs features villages in Central province’s Kiambu and Nyeri areas, Rift Valley’s Nakuru, Molo and Kericho areas, Eastern’s Meru and Machakos areas, Nyanza’s Bondo and Kisumu areas, Coast’s Taita and Taveta areas and Western’s Kakamega, Kitale and Bongoma areas.
